At the start of the year 2000, SAGAM International Group expanded its business activities establishing a partnership with the German company Giesecke and Devrient ( G&D ), a world leader in supplying bank note processing systems. This enable SAGAM International to install and ensure the maintenance of bank note processing for several branches of the Central Bank of West Africa (BCEAO). The success of this operation led to the company being hired to supply and install a similar system for the Central Bank in Central Africa (BEAC). Since 2001, SAGAM International has been in charge of maintaining the bank note process system for the BCEAO and continues to maintain its high standards despite the increased volume of bank notes production. Today the SAGAM International Group oversees the maintenance of hundreds of bank note processing systems installed in some 43 national agencies of BCEAO and BEAC.
The SAGAM International group relies on a solid organisation with some 30 engineers and technicians based in the 14 member countries of these two institutions.
The systems used enables the effective handling of all the steps involved in bank note processing from its introduction into circulation to its destruction, following the flow through the internal commercial banks, the valuables processing centres, and the central banks.
Based on the success in supplying these services to its traditional customer base, namely Central Banks and commercial banks, SAGAM International began extending its business activities to supplying, installing and providing maintenance for bank note processing to commercial banks and valuables processing enterprises in all the countries of the WAEMU and CEMAC zones.
