When we created SAGAM on 5 December 1985, our objective was to fill the security needs of institutions, industries, and services. But since the 9/11 events, the world has fundamentally changed. Over these past years, Africa and the rest of the world have been faced with new forms of threats and, as a consequence, faced with increasing instability which makes the world much more vulnerable than it was previously. The recent events in places such as Paris, Bamako and Ouagadougou, regrettably confirm this trend.
In the past, security was considered a non-priority, something intended for a select group of privileged people. This thinking has now changed. Security has become an essential and even more, a vital need for the entire world, Africa in particular.
The diversification of SAGAM’s products as well as the presence of our subsidiaries in several countries in Africa show our willingness to make sure that everyone benefits from our expertise while maintaining our quality service.
Security is the cornerstone for the stability of our countries. It is essential for development and economic growth. SAGAM International is aware of these challenges and wants to actively take part in implementing sound solutions to meet the increasing and multi-faceted safety needs in Africa.

SAGAM International is a socially responsible company which has been able to rise to the top third tier in terms of the number of people employed and tax contributions in Senegal. We also participate in the reintegration of veterans, from the Senegalese military especially as they have acquired essential values that we, as a company, require: discipline and rigour. After going through the competitive selection process and completing the in-house training program on civilian safety and security, every year, hundreds of them also join the defence and security forces.
SAGAM International’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSRP) is strongly focussed on the welfare of its employees, in particular on medical care for its employees and their families, providing support for the housing cooperatives created by the staff; and organizing holiday and special occasion events, such as May 1st, the annual “Christmas Tree”, soccer matches, etc. Our policy is without a doubt, one that helps to boost staff motivation and loyalty.
